Spring Into Action
Early April has been absolutely beautiful in Lakewood. I have already released some warm weather clothes from the Vault. Driving home after work is that much more exciting now. The weather has caused an influx of people to hit the sidewalks and streets during early evening. Friday I found myself lounging around Edgewater for about 3.5 hrs. I packed a small lunch, my sketch book, pencils, Eat.Pray.Love, a few beach towels and set out to enjoy the spring sunshine. I guess you could say the 3.5 hrs of doing absolutely nothing that involved work (or speaking to individuals in general) was my birthday treat to myself. Best birthday present ever – and I finally got my way through Eat of Gilbert’s bestseller!
This is going to be an amazing spring. Its my first warm weather experience on the West Side and I have already found an appreciation for my close proximity to Lakewood and Edgewater Park. ATF gave me a bike this past week, so pretty soon you will get to see this girl biking around Lakewood. Safety first of course, I’m gonna head out to get a sweet helmet, then hit the streets – Lord knows I’m a bit clumsy. Cleveland Bike Week is coming up in May and I planning on participating! Also have you heard of these Biking Pub Crawls?? Erin of Dust Sleeve, Ian and I were at Cranky’s this weekend planning the WMC Mixer (upcoming post alert!), to which we witnessed the most bizarre and awesome thing. Upwards of 25 people, all on bicycles, biking from pub to pub in the Ohio City/Tremont area! I’ve heard of people doing this before, I have just never seen it happening – possibly an item to add to the “Things I want to do this Summer” list.
Now that I’ve decided to become a bicyclist, do you have any suggestions on where to go in CLE or where to locate biker friendly routes in town? Your comments are appreciated – Thanks!

So jealous of your ability to bike around Lakewood, that’s the one thing I miss of living on the west side…the beach, the ability to walk/bike around. I love the towpath trails that start in Peninsula (okay, not near you) but they are relaxing nice trails that i enjoy biking on!
